And they said Mercedes vacuum systems are annoying and hard to service. Now hopefully the locks will work after the engine is turned off.

Mine has a minor leak, if I don’t drive the car for maybe three days I have to start the engine to get the other door locks to open up, otherwise its fine. He made it out of that? Most leaks in the system are old cracked plastic forks in the vacuum lines.

Ours is actually the little box thingy itself (the wagons use boxes instead of balls). It’s more of a temp fix, until they get another wagon at the junkyard.

Ah, well its a good idea. I’d love an all manual, doors, sunroof, tranny... Euro 300D

I’ve heard of the tees and junctions sprouting leaks (also ask RamblinRover, as they have a plethora of W123s and a few W124s running around at his house), but not the accumulator itself.

I think it’s less of a leak and more of a lack of holding vacuum. It’s the one that was on the car since new, so it’s probably about the end of it’s service life.
